About

Meet Stephanie.

Wife, mom, counselor, coach, and a woman who follows Jesus.

Hello

Hi, I’m Stephanie.

For more than a decade, I’ve had the privilege of sitting with people in some of the most complicated parts of their lives. I’ve counseled and coached hundreds of men and women through relationships, grief, identity, family dynamics, major decisions, painful patterns, and those moments when you know something needs to change but you’re not sure how to get there.

I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and have been counseling for 11+ years, which means I’m trained to hear more than the problem you walked in with. I’m listening for what keeps showing up, what you believe underneath it, what belongs to you, what doesn’t, and where fear, guilt, or somebody else’s expectations may be getting louder than truth.

But my clinical training isn’t the highest authority in the room. God is.

I’m also a Christian Life Coach, biblical counselor, and published author, and my faith isn’t something I tack onto the end of a session. Our work is Holy Spirit-led. We pray. We come back to Scripture. We pay attention to what God may be bringing to the surface, and we ask what it looks like to actually respond.

That’s why I call this Mirror Reflections. I’m here to be a mirror, so you can see who you are underneath all you carry and become more of who God made you to be: closer to Him, more sure of who you are in Him, and healthier in your relationships with others.

I’m warm, encouraging, and deeply curious. I’m going to give you room to process, and I’m also probably going to ask the question you’ve been avoiding. Encouragement without truth can leave us comfortable in places God is trying to grow us out of.

I’m a wife, a mom, and a woman who follows Jesus too. I know you can love God, know the Word, pray about the thing, and still find yourself saying, “Okay, Lord, what am I supposed to do with this?”

You don’t need to impress me. You don’t need to have the Christian answer ready.

Come tell me what’s actually going on.

My story

Mirror Reflections grew with me.

The heart behind this work started long before I became a therapist.

Years ago, I was involved with the Miss America Organization, where my platform focused on the importance of self-esteem for women and girls. I was passionate about helping women recognize their worth, build confidence, and embrace what made them different instead of believing they needed to become somebody else to be valuable.

Even before that, I spent years mentoring girls and young women around self-esteem, life skills, confidence, and personal development.

So this part of me isn’t new. I’ve cared about identity for a very long time.

But as I grew, the vision grew with me. My own life required me to look in the mirror too.

I’ve been to therapy. I’ve had to do my own work. I’ve walked away from relationships that weren’t healthy for me. I’ve had things to unlearn, things to heal from, things to surrender, and decisions that required me to trust God when I couldn’t see exactly how everything was going to turn out.

And as my relationship with God deepened, so did my understanding of what I actually wanted for the people I worked with.

What I want for you

I want more for you than confidence.

It isn’t just confidence. It isn’t just self-esteem. And it definitely isn’t becoming some shinier, more impressive version of yourself.

I want you to see yourself clearly enough to become more of who God already created you to be.

To know God, not just know about Him.
To recognize His voice.
To understand your identity in Him.
To see what’s underneath the patterns that keep showing up.
To stop carrying things God never asked you to carry.
To have healthier relationships.
To confront fear instead of organizing your life around it.
To move toward what God has placed inside of you.
To know how to fight for yourself and your family, and to walk in freedom.
And to do something with what you see.

That became Mirror Reflections.

Because sometimes the hardest person to see clearly is yourself.
My faith

My faith isn’t something I add to this work.

It’s the foundation underneath it. I love Jesus, and I believe real transformation involves more than understanding ourselves better. We need God.

That’s why my sessions are Holy Spirit-led. That doesn’t mean I sit across from you and tell you, “God told me what you need to do.” I don’t believe my role is to become the voice of God in your life. I want to help create room for you to hear Him.

Sometimes that means separating fear from wisdom, guilt from conviction, forgiveness from access, love from people-pleasing, or waiting on God from being afraid to move.

And sometimes it means realizing God has already been dealing with you about something, and now the question is:

What are you going to do with what He showed you?

This work is also ministry for me. Isaiah 61 sits underneath it: good news for the brokenhearted and freedom for people who’ve been bound. I don’t only want you to understand yourself better. I want you to be freer.

So yes, we look at patterns and wounds. We also pay attention to what’s happening spiritually. I’ll teach you how to recognize a lie, stop agreeing with it, and stand on what God says instead. I’ll pray with you and for you while you learn to stand on your own.

My training isn’t God. My experience isn’t God. And I never want to become so knowledgeable about people that I stop making room for the One who created them.

Professional background

The experience behind the work

I’ve spent more than 11 years working in mental health and have supported hundreds of people through counseling, coaching, biblical counseling, crisis work, groups, and private practice.

Before private practice, my work included crisis stabilization, risk management, and long-term treatment planning. Since then it has expanded across trauma, relationships, grief, family conflict, life transitions, identity and purpose.

That background taught me how to listen beneath the surface. When you tell me what happened this week, I’m also listening for what keeps happening.

What did you immediately assume?
Why did saying no make you feel guilty?
Why are you taking responsibility for something that isn’t actually yours?
Is that conviction, or condemnation?

You may come in talking about one relationship and realize we’re actually talking about identity. You may come in asking what you should do and realize the bigger question is why you don’t trust yourself to make the decision. You may think the issue is another person and discover God is showing you something about you.

That’s the kind of work I love.

But Mirror Reflections Coaching is not psychotherapy. We’re not here to diagnose you or treat a mental health disorder. Coaching gives us room to look at where you are, where you believe God is calling you, what may be getting in the way, and what it looks like to actually move.

Writing and speaking

I’ve been talking about this for a long time.

In 2013, I wrote and published From Spelmanites to You, a book created to help young women navigate college, relationships, identity, and becoming who they were meant to be. I even launched a successful Kickstarter campaign to help bring the book to life.

I’ve also spoken publicly about the things I care deeply about: identity in Christ, overcoming fear, trusting God, singleness and marriage, purpose, motherhood, and surrender.

I don’t want faith to remain theoretical.

I want to know: What does this change on Tuesday?
What do you do differently in the relationship?
How do you respond when the fear comes back?
What happens when you’ve prayed about it and still have to make the decision?

That intersection, between what we believe, what’s happening inside of us, and how we actually live, is where I do some of my best work.

My family

Before all the titles, I’m Stephanie.

Daughter of the King.

I’m also a wife to my husband, Tiem, and a mom to our two boys, Asa and Josiah. Marriage and motherhood have given me plenty of opportunities to live the very things I talk about.

Surrender. Communication. Boundaries. Grace. Forgiveness. Trust. Fear. Faith.

I don’t have a perfectly curated Christian life, and I don’t want an About page that makes it sound like I do. I’m growing too.

I know what it’s like to love God and still wrestle with yourself. To know something intellectually and realize your emotions haven’t caught up yet. To have to apologize. To realize that loving someone doesn’t mean carrying everything for them. To discover that sometimes, while you’re asking God to change the situation, He’s doing something in you.

I also know what it’s like for God to meet me personally in fear, motherhood, marriage, work, and major transitions in my own life.

I’ve learned to war in prayer for myself, my marriage, my children and the things God has entrusted to me. I know what it is to fight on my knees and still take practical action in my actual life. That’s part of the fire I bring into the room.

I don’t share that because my story needs to become yours. I share it because I know what it means to need God in the middle of real life, not just on Sunday morning.

Why a mirror?

Sometimes you’re simply too close to it.

After more than a decade of doing this work, I’ve learned that people often aren’t lacking intelligence, faith, strength, or information.

You’re inside the relationship.
Inside the decision.
Inside the roles you’ve been filling for years.
Inside the version of yourself you’ve learned to be.

And it can be hard to see the whole picture when you’re standing in the middle of it.

And not every mirror you’ve been handed was honest. Every person in your life reflects a version of you back to you. Some of those reflections are true. Others are cracked, smudged or tilted, and after enough years you start to believe them.

Sometimes you need a mirror. Not someone to tell you who to become. Not someone to make your decisions for you. And not someone to take God’s place in your life.

Someone who can help you slow it down, see what’s actually there, ask the questions you haven’t thought to ask, and make room for God in what comes next.

Then we look at God’s original, the you He designed before anyone else had a say, and we let Him restore it.

I help you do relationships better.
The one with God.
The one with yourself.
And the ones with others.

That’s Mirror Reflections.

Your turn

You’ve read a lot about me. Now I want to hear about you.

You don’t have to figure it out before you reach out. Come tell me what’s actually going on. We’ll spend 15 minutes talking about what you’re looking for and whether coaching with me makes sense.

Maybe there’s one relationship you can’t stop thinking about.
Maybe you’ve spent so much time being who everyone needs you to be that you’re not sure who you are underneath it anymore.
Maybe you want to know God more intimately and recognize His voice more clearly.
Or maybe you can’t put your finger on it yet. You just know something needs to change.
